The Village of Westhampton Beach is seeking to develop a list of residents or community members who are interested in serving their community as members of the Village's appointed boards and committees.

Seasonal Laborer Position - Employee will work in the Public Works department from May to November.  Duties include: manual work in highway maintenance, including patching holes and washouts, erecting and removing signs and fences. Grounds maintenance activities, such as cutting grass, trimming trees and shrubbery, laying sod, raking leaves, planting trees and shrubs, and painting benches and picnic tables. Loads & unloads supplies and equipment; may occasionally operate light motor vehicles, such as automobiles and small trucks; may use power equipment, such as chain saws, power drills, motorized lawn mowers and portable power tools.

Justice Court Clerk - Part-time (17 1/2 hours per week) Justice Court Clerk who would perform varied clerical work, in and out of the court room requiring some knowledge of statutes and laws governing the practice and procedures of the Justice Courts. Work is performed under the supervision of the Senior Justice Court Clerk or the Justice of the Village Court. Typical work activities will include preparing a wide variety of legal documents and papers, including civil summonses, criminal warrants, subpoenas, transcripts of judgements and commitments, dockets, and enters civil, motor vehicle and criminal cases; collecting and recording fines and fees, making up bank deposits, preparing monthly report for NYS Department of Audit and Control. Must have the ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with co-worker and general public. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Office.
